Endometriosis is a chronic, long-term inflammatory condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found outside of the uterus (typically on the bowels, bladder and/or ovaries). Symptoms affect the whole body and range widely. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, painful periods/ovulation, pain during or after penetrative sex, heavy bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, fatigue, and infertility – all of which impact physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
