Submit a research blog – special invitation to SEEN members:
EndoZone is an evidence-based platform funded by the Australian Government, for people affected by endometriosis, their supporters and health professionals. We have had over 55,000 users globally, since we launched the platform in March 2022. We are extending the research centre information on the platform and we would like to invite you to submit a research blog based upon your recently published findings as we believe that it will help the community to learn more about endometriosis, pelvic pain or associated symptoms.
Publishing a blog article on EndoZone is a great way to ensure your research findings are translated to the community and enables the dissemination of your research findings (we backlink to the published article).
Submitting a research blog is easy just fill in the details here: Link Or contact the team at endo@adelaide.edu.au
We look forward to showcasing the great research being undertaken by SEEN members.

De Montfort University, Leicester, and Endometriosis UK
The Midlands Graduate School is an accredited Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP). One of 15 such partnerships in the UK, the Midlands Graduate School is a collaboration between the Universities of Warwick, Birmingham, Nottingham, Aston Leicester, Loughborough, De Montfort and Nottingham Trent.
De Montfort University, Leicester, as part of Midlands Graduate School is now inviting applications for an ESRC Doctoral Studentship in association with our collaborative partner Endometriosis UK to commence in October 2024.
The project: Endometriosis is a chronic condition which occurs when cells which are similar to those found lining the womb are present elsewhere in the body. There are currently 1.5 million living with endometriosis in the UK. Symptoms vary between individuals but can commonly include chronic pelvic pain, painful periods, painful bowel and bladder movements, fatigue, painful sex, and difficulty getting pregnant. One significant impact of endometriosis is the effect it can have on working lives, including more time off and reduced productivity, the need for workplace adjustments, lower salary and salary growth, impacts on job and career decisions and trajectories, reduced income, and concerns about job security. Whilst there has been qualitative social scientific research related to other aspects of the condition, there remains a gap in understanding around the lived experience of managing endometriosis around formal employment. There is a need for novel, collaborative social science research which involves people living with endometriosis, employers, and third sector organisations who are working to improve employers’ understanding of the condition.
The aim of this project is to explore the organisational framings of endometriosis, managerial practices and experiences, and the lived experiences of individuals with endometriosis in the context of the formal labour market. It will involve a mixed-method design using questionnaires, digital diaries and in-depth interviews to meet the objectives, as well as co-production methods to create recommendations for practice. The project involves collaboration with Endometriosis UK, the UK’s leading endometriosis charity, with the successful applicant spending time on placement with Endometriosis UK. It will be supervised by Professor Nicky Hudson and Dr Caroline Law at De Montfort University, and undertaken in collaboration with Emma Cox, Endometriosis UK CEO.
