Opportunities

We’re excited about the opportunity to have more SEEN members than ever involved and present at the upcoming 16thWorld Congress on Endometriosis (WCE) to showcase and share this growing body of work and the vital role it plays in endometriosis research!

The abstract call for the 16th WCE is now open, with abstract due by Nov 15th.

Why SEEN members should consider applying:

  • Like the 15th WCE, the organisers of the 16th WCE are actively seeking to be more inclusive of the social sciences, psychology, and qualitative research. This year there will be more abstract reviewers with relevant disciplinary expertise to review submissions.
  • You won’t be alone! Australian and international SEEN members will be there, meeting-up and networking informally and formally throughout the Congress.
  • With registration, flights and Sydney hotels – expense is a barrier for many. When submitting your abstract, there are a limited number of travel grants and awards available that you can apply for (see details here: 16th World Congress on Endometriosis ).  If you have a poster accepted and cannot attend, we could explore having a SEEN member taking it on your behalf. But we do hope to find creative ways to overcome the barrier of costs!

SEEN Postgrad/doc monthly Meet Up – Oct 3rd

The SEEN Postgrad/doc meet up group provides a supportive community to endometriosis postgraduates and recent postdocs. Members share works in progress for feedback, resources and more.

We plan to meet monthly and hope to introduce a regular writing group as well.  You can keep up with the group via Whatsapp between meetings as well.

Our next virtual meet up will be October 3rd at 4pm BST, with the first half focused on writing abstracts on work yet to be finalised, followed by more general discussion and mutual support.

To join, email: annalise.weckesser@bcu.ac.uk with ‘Postgrad/doc’ in the subject heading.
